John's Favorite Pumpkin Pie
This is John's favorite pie. We eat it every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
Pumpkin Pie
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon (ground)
2 large eggs
1- 12 ounce can evaporated milk
1- 15 ounce can pumpkin
2- 2 cup pie shells
whipped cream
Mix sugar, salt and spices in a small bowl. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir in sugar-spice mixture and pumpkin to beaten eggs. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shells. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 15 minutes then at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of pie comes out clean.
(Substitution -1 3/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice may be substituted for the 3 spices but will taste different.)
